The historic Tackley's Inn was the foundation building of Oriel College in 1324. The historic structures are to be reintegrated into the heart of the College as a primary facility for lectures, dining and entertainment. Restoration of the vaulted cellar, hall and scholars chamber, still largely intact but concealed behind the Oxford’s High Street shop fronts, is augmented with new facilities and improved accessibility. Primary spatial connections are re-established to make the building’s heritage more legible and create important interconnectedness within the College.
